Dispersed: Mainly scattered in southern Mexico, from Veracruz in the center south to Guatemala to the Caribbean and Honduras. It is also divided into two populations: Honduras and Mexico. Their appearance is very similar to the Florida subspecies, especially the population originating in Honduras.

Appearance characteristics: About 20~30cm, maximum 49cm.

Livelihood customs: Mainly rest in swamps, pools or lakes, as well as in some slow-flowing rivers. Comply with temperature 22~28℃.

Growing customs: The growing season is from April to June every year. After mating, female turtles will give birth to about 20 to 30 offspring. A spherical egg, 3~4cm long. The incubation period is about 60 to 90 days.

Food habits:The larvae can be fed a variety of foods, such as small fish, shrimps, mealworms and any water, turtle feed, etc. As an adult, it will hunt all small animals in the water or on the shore, as long as it can be swallowed, it is its prey.
