Swallow fish
If the giant mermaid mentioned here refers to the swallow fish we usually talk about, it is different from the colorful giant. It got its name because its body shape looks very much like Shuofang's swallow. The native place is the Amazon River Basin, which is relatively rare in Peru, Brazil and other places. Naturally, this is a wild giant mermaid. Most of the things we keep at home today are artificially modified, and there are various varieties, which are deeply loved by the majority of aquarists
Many aquarists will be interested in the growth of giant mermaids, because the giant mermaid is not just when it grows to the size of a 15 cm red fish. The reason why the giant mermaid is beautiful and visible is It's process from a fry to an adult fish. At this stage, its physical characteristics can be said to be endlessly changing and very beautiful.
The water temperature for giant mermaids to grow must be different from the water temperature where we usually raise giant mermaids. The water temperature during the growth stage is higher than normal. It is better to have 1° to 2° more, preferably at 30°. Higher temperatures are helpful for the growth of parent fish and the hatching of fish eggs. The water quality will not change much at all. If the water is still slightly acidic and the pH is between 6.5 and 7.0, then the hardness within 6gh will be fine.
During the growth period of giant fish, it is best to transfer the two growing fish from the large fish tank to the small tank. Because giant mermaids practice strict monogamy, if there are too many fish, they will easily get into fights. Even if they lay eggs, the chances of them hatching are low and they will easily be swallowed up by other giant mermaids.
The growth ability of the giant mermaid:
1. The use of cylinders. As a separate tank, the growth tank must have certain specifications, at least 45*45*45. The purpose is to give the parent fish a large enough range of movement, and at the same time, it can also give the young fry enough space.
2. Growth barrel. The growth barrel should have a suitable ratio according to the size of the tank, and the color should be darker, which will help the giant fish fit the barrel and make it easier for the giant fish to lay eggs.
3. Disinfection of the tank. For the growth of dried giant fish, the disinfection of the tank is an indispensable link. Generally speaking, the growth tank can be cleaned 2-3 times with potassium permanganate, copper sulfate or some other prescriptions for cleaning fish tanks to ensure that the fish tank is completely disinfected. Create a better fish tank environment for the parent fish and fish eggs.
4. Water quality care. No matter what kind of fish it is, water quality is more important, especially for giant mermaids. Giant fish prefer old water, which requires us to stick to the water in the original tank when growing. After all, your giant fish has adapted to the water in the original tank, and the nitrification system has been established. At the same time, changes in water temperature are best controlled between left and right 1°. Excessive fluctuations will cause discomfort to the fish and affect the growth process. Just add a water fairy to the water, no need for a pump.
5. Generally, giant fish will lay eggs and grow within a week. The fertilized eggs are yellow. Yes, white fish eggs are dead eggs. If it's fast, it can hatch within a week, and the second wave of growth will occur within the second week of delivery.
6. Change the water. The giant fish can change the water before spawning. There is no need to change the water deliberately after spawning, reduce feeding, and avoid affecting the water quality.
