Recently, we visited Pizza Express at the Corn exchange in Manchester for a story telling masterclass.
We arrived late, after some bright spark decided to close Mancuian way so we missed chapter 1 but thanks to the wonderful teacher we soon caught up. Plus with the handy Moana poster giving away
the ACTUAL secrets
of story telling, we whizzed through chapters like no ones business!
It turns out that, out of the four of us, Mike is the most creative of us. He created Butterfly Sparkle, who in fact was a baby lamb, once saved by the hero daddy, and retuned to her mummy after losing her way on the farm. Florence made the most amazing story book, but after her promise to read me her story, I have yet to hear it! And well…. my story also involved a ‘butterfly’ (Notice the theme here- Florence names everything butterfly) but mine was a bunny, who lost her sparkly shoes, met a grumpy grasshopper who through his rudeness helped her find her sparkly shoes after all.
The restaurant was clean and presentable, as always and we found out that Flo CAN still for 40 minutes telling stories and making story books… and the best part is that we all ate vegan pizza and met some new friends while we were there!
We even entered the Pizza Express competition while we were there (details below). Thank you Pizza express for having us… and as usual we will be back next weekend for more Pizza!
Stories can be enjoyed anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime, whether you’re in the park, on the train, in the bath or on a plane… you can even share a story whilst you’re waiting for your pizza!
