OptiBac Probiotics: Gut love

I started using OptiBac Probiotics 3 years ago, after a dreadful breakout of adult acne. I have never really had spots (apart from the odd one) but after a stressful return to work after maternity leave and my face showed the stress.

For anyone who doesn’t know of Caroline Hirons, then you HAVE to go and have a nosey. She saved my face. One of her tips in helping overcome adult acne was to start taking probiotics and after some research I settled on OptiBac Probiotics.

The main reasons that I chose them:

I could take the babies and children strain whilst pregnant and breastfeeding, and they were affordable. Then once I stopped breastfeeding, I moved on to the for everyday immunity strain.

So let’s give you a run down on probiotics.

OptiBac Probiotics say:

Often known as ‘friendly bacteria’ or ‘live cultures’, probiotics are microorganisms which have proven health benefits on the body.

The OptiBac Probiotics range consists of eleven different supplements containing live cultures – all natural, and with no added colourings, flavours or preservatives. Our range includes supplements suitable for infants, pregnant & breastfeeding mothers, for vegetarians, vegans, coeliacs, and for those who are lactose intolerant.

So why do I use OptiBac Probiotics?

Well, they proclaim to be experts in the field, stating that the strains they use are of the highest quality and test the probiotics are stable at room temperature, can survive stomach acidity, and can adhere to the gut wall. They share the full ingredients list, have a wide range of probiotics specific to contributing to different needs and are very affordable.

Whenever I am feeling under the weather, or during the winter months I take them every day. As a breastfeeding mama, I take the children and babies variety. I also give the littlest one a sachet mixed with a small amount of breastmilk. I then use a medicine (calpol) syringe to give it to her easily.

Unfortunately Flo cannot use them yet as she has dairy anaphylaxis, so although they are stated safe to use if you have an intolerance they do not recommend for use with severe allergies.

As soon as they have one that Flo can use it will be first in line to buy. Until then, I will be best mates with OptiBac Probiotics

Follow them on instagram for updates and competitions.

Much love,

Mother Freckle xx

Oh this is really handy to know thanks, two of my children don’t have very good diets and as a result often end up constipated. I know that probiotics are good for helping with this kind of thing and Optibac isn’t a name I have heard of before so will look them up.
