Tea time with Tilda Rice: How we keep the whole family happy #AD

In our household, we do our equal share of cooking. However, I am the one who usually makes the majority of the kids teas as Mike is usually at work. With this, I either have two teas or wait for him to get home where he normally cracks out his chef skills and we eat around 9pm!

That is why I love it when we have time off together, whether that is a cheeky weekday or the weekend. We get to sit down and eat together. Mike would argue that he cooks more than I do, but I think he just forgets how much time I spend with the kids cooking! When we do eat, I always try to offer the kids a variety of food to see what they like. One thing is for sure, they love rice dishes. They also love LEGOLAND, so now that Tilda are offering an extra incentive with their Kids Basmati pouches following the announcement of their partnership with LEGOLAND®; we are all happy!

The promotional packs are now available and can be redeemed against one free ticket at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Manchester with a full paying adult.

Tilda Kids counts as 1 of their 5 a day, which is always handy!

They come in children sized portions, available in 125g pouches.

We usually have them as a side dish, served with lasagne or a chicken dish but you could easily add in some chicken or fish to the rice to make it a full meal in itself.

Here is our easy peasy Spanish inspired chicken recipe:

2 Portions of fresh chicken

1 tbs of olive oil

1 tin of chopped tomatoes

½ tsp dried basil

½ tsp dried rosemary

Pinch of salt and pepper (optional)

½ cup of sweetcorn

Handful of black pitted olives

Cut the chicken into small chunks

Fry over a medium heat with the olive oil until brown and cooked thoroughly

Place to one side in a suitable bowl

Heat the tinned tomatoes and dried herbs over a high heat for 10 minutes (be sure to have the lid on the pan)

Reduce the heat to a medium heat and add the sweetcorn and olives until heated through.

Add the cooked chicken to the sauce

Serve with Tilda Rice

All of the rice recipes are gluten-free and three of the four variants are dairy free. They are also all vegetarian and free from artificial colours and preservatives.

We love this quick and easy recipe so hope you do too!
